Dedicated servers

Companies turn to a dedicated server once a virtual machine starts getting in the way: a Comarch ERP XL or SQL Server database heads towards hundreds of gigabytes, load stays high from morning till evening, or a contract with a key client forbids data sitting on shared hardware. The facility owns the kit and is responsible for keeping it healthy, while we take care of everything running on it.

Included in this service

What you really buy with bare metal is predictability. At 9 a.m. on a Monday the database responds just as quickly as it does on Sunday night.

Configuration for the workload

A high-clock CPU for databases licensed per core, generous memory and NVMe drives wherever operations per second matter.

Choosing the facility

An EU or Polish location, redundant power and connectivity, processing terms your GDPR adviser will accept and a reasonable parts replacement time.

RAID and OS

The array, OS install, network settings, packet filtering and the vendor's out-of-band console, which lets us reach the box even after an OS crash.

Database licensing

We count SQL Server and OS licences against the number of cores, because the wrong processor can push up what you pay for them noticeably.

Backups and a standby server

Copies kept on independent storage and, for firms that cannot tolerate downtime, a replicated twin that steps in if the primary fails.

Ongoing administration

Updates, watching drive and array health, dealing with the provider when faults occur and an annual review of whether the build still matches your needs.

How we work together

Preparation time depends on the build and on the provider's stock.

01

Load profile

We record current CPU, memory and disk usage across a typical week, month-end close included.

02

Order and build

We place the order on your company's account, then put on the OS, the array, security controls and monitoring agents.

03

Migration

Databases and applications move after a dry run, and the real switchover happens outside office hours.

04

Upkeep

Monitoring, patches and tuning as the number of users and the volume of data grow.

A faster processor can cost less than extra cores. SQL Server and many ERP systems are licensed per core. A machine with many slower cores may cost far more in licences than one with fewer quick cores, and the database would not use the extra threads anyway. So we price the configuration together with licensing, not just the monthly rental.

Questions and answers

Typical signs are ERP reports that take a quarter of an hour, slowdowns at peak times despite a bigger VPS plan, and a client contract requiring isolated data. If none of these applies, a VPS usually does the job for less.

Monitoring flags the fault before the array loses redundancy. We log it with the provider, their technician swaps the part, and we check the rebuild and data consistency. You buy no spares and send nobody anywhere.

Yes. We work with facilities in Poland and in other EU countries. An in-country location is usually chosen when a client, a public buyer or company policy calls for it, and we note it in your GDPR records.

With steady demand and an existing server room, owned hardware may pay back after several years. We do not sell hardware, so neither option benefits us. We cost both fairly, including air conditioning, a UPS and whoever has to change a disk on a Saturday.
